Thanksgiving in Rincon, Puerto Rico

We rolled into Rincon on Thanksgiving day sometime after noon. We were hungry for lunch and headed to the Balnearo de Rincon thinking we could perhaps find a place along the water to grab a bite. We passed through an archway to see a restaurant with a buffet right on the water. Turns out it was a Thanksgiving feast for their employees. Vegan in Paradise

Puerto Rican food is often fried, usually meat of some sort. It’s abundant and easily accessible in restaurants, roadside stands and the beach side. When you eat healthy and mostly vegetarian if not vegan, it can be a challenge finding food that satisfies you.  I love that the island has an abundance of fresh fruits such as mango, avocado, papaya, coconut, etc. Eating local is the best way to immerse yourself into the culture of where you are.
